Ecstasy is commonly referred to as “E” or “X,” and is actually 3, 4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA). It is considered a club drug because of its stimulating effects. Ecstasy is a man-made pill, so the purity is questionable. The maker can use whatever ingredients he or she would like in making the drug. Ecstasy pills usually have a graphic or logo on the tablet. About 45 minutes after swallowing a pill, a user will feel the “high” of ecstasy. This high lasts three to six hours.
